Navya (Tunga Regale), Mumbai (Andheri West)

Tunga has been a hotel group popular in andheri for quite some time now with two of its facilities, Tunga international and Tunga Paradise. On a weekday after work hours we decided to eat out and since I am located in Andheri east Tunga was one option that came across. After a quick search on Zomato we realised that there was a new restaurant that they had come up with in the same vicinity inside another residential hotel, Tunga Regale, and we drove to them.

Valets were prompt to pick the car up and we entered a restaurant that was newly done and looked just like all the breakfast areas in most residential hotels. The staff here are very warm towards customers but under trained professionally. We had a quick look at the menu to start with a tomato soup.

IMG_20151105_215230A famished stomach generally complains less on the arrival of food but this soup made us get back to the staff for the lack of an important thing, taste! The staff happened to acknowledge the situation in unprofessional but surprising cute way and told us that the soup was made by the chefs helper and he is getting it replaced with one made by the chef himself. We felt so privileged. I think the chef too had only recently got promoted from the helper’s role. (as far as the soup was concerned).

Veg Manchurian dry is one of our stereotype orders and we choose it over other available options. The dish was made decently but missed some spark. There was flavour but not enough and tasted just satiable.

On asking for a suggestion for a noodle based dish for main course the staff member informed us that he personally liked the Hong Kong noodles and we pressed the order button. The noodles were quick to arrive and we pounced onto this dish that was best among the lot we ordered, after the usual clicking of course. The staff inquisitively checked if we liked the dish as he had made the recommendation and I could not help but say yes to keep him happy 🙂

It is not the kind of place you would generally go for dinners and had a serious requirement to redo their food. I still walked out smiling given the warm behaviour of the staff member.
